Swiss asset manager SUSI Partners AG and its third Luxembourg fund belonging to the credit platform (SUSI Energy Efficiency and Transition Credit Fund SCSp-RAIF) SFDR article 9 dedicated to energy transition investments, has launched a new securitisation structure in Italy. The platform will enable the purchase of credits to finance renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Italy.
Siram S.p.A. (subject to the management and coordination of Veolia Energy International S.A.), carried out the first assignment of a portfolio of receivables pursuant to the Italian Securitisation Law. This related to receivables arising from a series of energy efficiency projects for public lighting originated by the company. This first transaction marked the beginning of a collaboration between SUSI Partners and Siram for the assignment of credits in the energy efficiency sector and will generate a saving in terms of non-emitted CO2 of more than 700 tonnes per year.
Osborne Clarke advised Siram S.p.A. - with a team led by partner and Head of Financial Services in Italy Andrea Pinto, assisted by trainee Francesco Fallara - on all aspects related to the assignment of the receivables portfolio and connected with the securitisation documentation.
