Huntsman P&A Germany GmbH has disposed of its calculated interest of 25 per cent in Deutsche Baryt-Industrie Dr Rudolf Alberti GmbH & Co. KG and in Alberti & Co. Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung (limited company). Former joint-venture partner and main shareholder Sachtleben Minerals GmbH & Co. KG has acquired the interest. Huntsman will continue to cooperate with its former partner. The transaction has already been completed and the parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
Huntsman Corporation is a global specialty chemicals company, producing and distributing a variety of chemicals. Areas of application are, amongst others, in automobile, aircraft, textiles, footwear, paints and lacquers, building materials, agriculture, cleansers and detergents, pharmaceuticals or cosmetics as well as domestic appliances and packaging. The Huntsman group comprises five business divisions. Huntsman P&A Germany GmbH is part of the Pigment and Additives Division, producing and distributing particularly (white) pigments for use in, among others, paints, construction, cosmetics, health care and food.
Sachtleben Minerals GmbH & Co. KG deals with the degradation, marketing and supplying of industrial commodities as well as logistics and legal handlings.
The Osborne Clarke team that advised on the transaction was led by Dr Fabian Christoph (M&A corporate law). The deal was supervised in-house by Nina Nandelstädt, Managing Counsel at Huntsman P&A Germany GmbH. Osborne Clarke advises the Huntsman group on a regular basis.
