International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised BGF on its investment in Stark, a leading provider of energy data and analytics services.
Stark collects, processes, assures and distributes data representing around 20% of the UK's electricity supply, every day. It serves over 30,000 organisations including large energy users, intermediaries, and energy suppliers. Funding from BGF will be used to consolidate and expand Stark's data, analytics and metering service offering as well as address emerging data-driven opportunities around the integration of electric vehicles, storage, and the delivery of net zero, both in the UK and internationally.
The Osborne Clarke team which advised BGF was led by Partner Alistair Francis alongside Associate Hannah Rossi. Tax advice was provided by Partner Mathew Oliver and Associate Ben Doeh.
Osborne Clarke has a strong presence and is considered a go-to practice in the UK private equity market. The team work closely with leading private equity institutions, global businesses, fast-growth start-ups and market challengers, advising across all areas including equity and debt fundraising, M&A, IPOs and JVs.
