International legal practice Osborne Clarke has hired Xavier Pican as a Partner to further bolster its existing intellectual property, IT and commercial practice led by Béatrice Delmas-Linel and Claire Bouchenard. This brings the total number of Partners in the Osborne Clarke France team to ten.
Xavier is a recognised expert who has extensive experience in patents, intellectual property, information technology and data protection. He has advised on a number of complex, multicultural negotiations in field of patents and corporations’ software. Xavier is also passionate about technology and is widely known as an expert on smart cities, which is one of Osborne Clarke’s key thought leadership campaign focus areas.
Xavier brings nearly 20 years of experience and practice. He spent multiple years working as an in-house lawyer in several prominent French companies across a range of sectors including energy, defense and telecoms. He then decided to practice law as an outside counsel (avocat) and took the Bar exam in 2010, upon which he swiftly became Partner. He has a Master’s of Law from Queen Mary Westfield College, a postgraduate (DESS) in International Business Law of Toulouse, a CEIPI Diploma from Strasbourg and an Executive MBA – Essec Paris.

Also joining Osborne Clarke’s intellectual property, IT and commercial team is Laurène Zaggia and Margaux Hammer who are both specialists in IP, IT and IP litigation.
Laurène Zaggia holds a NYU professional certificate in IT and business law from New York University and a Master’s degree in industrial and intellectual property law from Panthéon Assas University Paris. She has developed a strong interest in smart cities and is keen to be involved in the company-wide campaign.
Margaux Hammer holds a Master’s degree in industrial and intellectual property law from Panthéon Assas University Paris and a Master’s degree in corporate law from Toulouse University and Sherbrook, Canada.
