Osborne Clarke has admitted Olexiy Oleshchuk to its partnership with effect from 1 July 2023.
At the firm's Munich office, Olexiy will focus particularly on project finance in the areas of renewable energy and infrastructure and ESG finance as well as financial restructurings within the Banking & Capital Markets practice group.
“Since Olexiy Oleshchuk joined us as Counsel two years ago, we have seen such a strong development that joining the partnership was the natural next step. Once again, we are pleased that our approach of also relying on highly qualified lateral hires in strategically important areas and then developing them into the partnership has paid off,” said Carsten Schneider, Managing Partner Osborne Clarke Germany.
Olexiy Oleshchuk joined Osborne Clarke in July 2021 as Counsel from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP; he was previously a senior associate at Hogan Lovells and an associate at Latham & Watkins. Olexiy's extensive experience and expertise in financing includes traditional corporate finance, capital markets finance and financial restructuring. As a Partner, Olexiy would like to focus more on the financing of large projects in the renewable energy, infrastructure and ESG sectors in the future. In doing so, he plans to work across practices and sectors and to play a key role in shaping one of the three transformative drivers of Osborne Clarke's 3-D strategy – decarbonisation, digitalisation and urban dynamics – with the emerging theme of sustainable energy generation. In addition, he is looking to further expand commercially lucrative financial restructuring practice within the firm.
“Our Banking & Capital Markets practice group as well as the area of financing law are in a strong and steady growth curve. We are very pleased to be more broadly positioned here in the future with Olexiy Oleshchuk as a further partner in the area of project finance and thus to always be able to guarantee high-quality advice and also offer further expertise in the area of financial restructuring and ESG”, says Antje Günther, Partner and responsible for the “Finance” area within the Banking & Capital Markets practice group at Osborne Clarke.
