Tom is a Senior Associate in our Regulatory Disputes team, specialising in regulatory compliance and risk. He advises international businesses and brands on a range of regulatory compliance issues, with a focus on AI, innovative tech products and consumer protection.
Tom advises businesses bringing innovative products to market in the UK and across wider jurisdictions, ensuring that clients understand their regulatory obligations, advising them through investigations by regulators (including the Competition and Markets Authority, OPSS and Trading Standards), and responding to regulatory challenges.
He has experience helping clients with complex regulatory investigations, multi-jurisdictional compliance projects and facilitating global product launches.
Tom has a particular specialism in technology regulation and frequently advises on compliance projects involving AI systems, IoT connected devices and other tech products. He also advises on various other types of products, including those requiring UKCA and CE markings (electronics, machines, toys, etc.).
Tom also helps clients with wider consumer protection issues and global compliance systems.
Helping you succeed in tomorrow's world
I am a core member of Osborne Clarke's AI team and have been deeply involved in the development of our AI Deployment Roadmap. I regularly speak to clients about AI and have spoken at a national conference on how to harness the opportunities and manage the potential pitfalls of this technology.
I am also one of our specialists in Digital Regulation, and contribute to our projects on reforms to consumer law, the regulation of online platforms, and the compliance of hardware and software.
I am hugely enthusiastic about emerging and innovative technologies and particularly enjoy opportunities to advise the businesses developing and deploying products which change the world around us, how we interact with our environments, and shift business practices as they are adopted more widely.
