Luis is a seasoned expert in energy law, boasting over 25 years of experience providing counsel to participants in the energy sector. His practice covers both electricity (conventional and renewable) and gas, with a particular focus on renewable gases and green hydrogen.
As a legal specialist dedicated to the energy industry, he routinely offers guidance to a diverse range of participants in the sector, including new entrants, developers, operators, utilities, significant consumers, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
His extensive background encompasses advising energy companies on day-to-day operational intricacies, providing also advice in the drafting and negotiating of agreements. Moreover, he has played a pivotal role in various commercial transactions related to energy assets, spanning sales, purchases, and financing. Luis has actively participated in both court and national and international arbitration proceedings.
Commencing his professional journey in 1998 at the law firm Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, Luis later joined the legal services of Gas Natural group (now Naturgy) in 2002, returning to Gómez-Acebo & Pombo in 2006.
In early 2022, he became a part of the international firm Dentons, subsequently aligning with the global firm Osborne Clarke in November 2023.
