Jon is a specialist technology lawyer in our commercial team, with experience in advising clients on data protection and export control issues.
He advises on a broad spectrum of technology transactions and digitalisation projects, including software arrangements, outsourcing contracts and R&D collaborations (particularly those involving emerging technologies or disruptive components).
Alongside his transactional work Jon's regulatory expertise helps clients navigate:
- The UK data protection landscape, and he has particular experience in the unique data protection challenges faced by those operating in the Tech, Media and Comms and Digital Health sectors; and
- The UK dual-use export control regime, particularly those controls governing state-of-the-art and strategic technologies, such as cryptography and quantum computing.
Jon has spent time on secondment with several clients, most recently as the primary UK legal adviser for a leading 3D software solutions multinational.
