Martin advises energy supply companies, project developers and industrial and commercial clients on all contractual and regulatory issues relating to the procurement and sale of electricity, natural gas, green hydrogen and heat, energy trading and decarbonisation projects.
He focuses on the drafting and negotiation of PPAs for green electricity and offtake agreements for green hydrogen, advising industrial and commercial clients on the structuring of energy procurement, generation and storage as well as on the regulatory optimisation of energy costs, for example in the area of individual grid fees, exemptions from electricity and energy tax and various levies and charges.
Martin advises producers of green hydrogen in all energy law as well as commercial aspects, such as grid access to electricity, hydrogen and/or natural gas grids, securing the supply of green electricity (PPAs) and water as well as medium to long-term hydrogen purchase agreements (HPAs) as a basis for project financing.
Martin studied in Dresden, Brighton (UK), Kiel and Berlin and was awarded his doctorate in 2011.
He was admitted to the bar in 2008. After almost 15 years at a European law firm, most recently as a partner, he joined Osborne Clarke in April 2024.
