Benjamin Ang is Special Counsel, Cyber Law and Policy at OC Queen Street LLC.

He is also concurrently a Senior Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for National Security (CENS), S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He leads the Cyber Homeland Defence Programme of CENS, a team that examines the impact of developments in cyber, digital, and information communication technologies, on the national security of Singapore. At the international level, this includes cyber norms, confidence building measures, and information warfare; at the national level, this includes smart nation security, influence operations, and legislation; and at the individual level this includes the impact of big data, social media targeting, artificial intelligence, and behavioural sciences in security.

Benjamin’s areas of practice include intellectual property, cybersecurity, data protection, technology, and media. He draws on varied experiences as a litigation lawyer in one of Singapore’s largest firms, CIO in a multinational professional services firm, legal counsel in media and technology companies, law lecturer, and as a technology consultant. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Chapter of the Internet Society, the international non-profit organization that is the trusted source of leadership on Internet policy, technology standards, and future development.
