Arthur Hopkinson

Arthur is a Senior Associate in our Environment and Sustainability practice. He routinely advises clients on corporate sustainability law in the UK and EU. His practice also involves legal advice in respect of natural capital projects and obligations, as well as renewable energy infrastructure.
In this role he helps clients across OC's sectors to understand new EU and UK sustainability law and develop strategies to comply with these.
He has experience advising clients on sustainability reporting (under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and UK Climate-related Financial Disclosure Regulations) and sustainability due diligence requirements (under the EU Deforestation Regulation and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive).
He also assists the team with planning and environmental compliance matters relating to nature-based projects, energy infrastructure, and all forms of development. Notably, Arthur has a wealth of experience in biodiversity net gain, nutrient and water neutrality issues, environmental statements, asset protection agreements and electrical waste disposal regulations.
Arthur joined OC in 2019 as a trainee.
Given the increasing pressure on clients to decarbonise their businesses, I am enthusiastic in assisting our clients identify opportunities to transition towards more sustainable operations and deliver positive change to the commercial and natural environments in which they operate.

Advising client on its obligations and compliance approach to the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
