Paul is a associate director in our litigation and arbitration department and has a broad background in commercial disputes, both domestically and internationally. Paul heads up of Dutch retail sector and is part of the core international retail group.
He has developed experience in recent years of litigating and advising in relation to a wide range of commercial disputes and in particular in relation to disputes in the retail, e-commerce, construction and banking sectors.
Paul has acted for leading retailers, e-commerce companies, construction companies, real estate investors and financial institutions and a wide variety of corporate entities from various industry sectors. Many of these disputes have involved an international element and he frequently advises on associated issues of jurisdiction and procedure.
Paul is president of the committee for disciplinary matters of the Dutch cycling sport confederation. He is also a member of the committee for disciplinary matters of the Royal Dutch Football Association.
Before joining Osborne Clarke in 2014, Paul worked as an associate with Baker McKenzie in the litigation and arbitration department in Amsterdam. He studied law in Amsterdam and Stellenbosch.
Paul has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

- Contracting
Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
