Big Solar: Local Communities and Consultation

Published on 3rd May 2022

How can solar projects engage locally to overcome issues?

In Part 3 of our solar energy miniseries, Josh Taylor from our Planning and Environment team is joined by Sam Cranston, Director of Energy Infrastructure from Copper Consultancy. Josh and Sam explore how solar projects can seek to overcome issues from a local perspective and they consider some of the lessons learned from previous Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

Josh and Sam also touch on some of Copper Consultancy's recent public attitudes research, along with their new approach to Development Consent Order (DCO) pre-application consultation.
