The use of ID verification and recognition tools (using biometric data) are becoming more and more prevalent across a number of sectors and services.

In this session, we will do a deep-dive into the use of biometric data – that being the use of individual characteristics (such as facial images or fingerprints) to uniquely identify someone – and compliance with data protection law.

In particular, we will look at the UK Information Commissioner's Office's recently published draft guidance on biometric data, recent enforcement in this area, and what this means for organisations seeking to make use of this technology.
