Osborne Clarke is celebrating two award wins for its international innovation team, Osborne Clarke Solutions (OCS), which picked up the top prize at two industry-leading award ceremonies this week.

Best Client Service Initiative Award: The Lawyer European Awards 2023

The team were recognised for deploying Osborne Clarke's Compliance Copilot tool, an AI-based compliance solution. Innovative, smart and user-centric, client teams can ask their question in chat or voice format and receive an answer in real-time. The unanswered questions are collected and forwarded to Osborne Clarke's lawyers. They work out the answers and enter them into the policy, which in turn is incorporated into the tool. In this way, Compliance Copilot 'learns' over time and understands its users better as time goes on.

Cologne-based Partner Gereon Abendroth, who led the interdisciplinary project team of lawyers and developers, commented: "We're thrilled to win this award and were particularly proud when we heard the judges single out our client's endorsement and validation of the tool when deciding the winning entry.

"Our Compliance Copilot has been a great success and enabled our clients to embed compliance as a strategic component to achieving their business goals. The efficiency of the tool saves significant time and resources in addressing compliance issues. At the same time, access to information is easier, which relieves the legal departments and gives them more time to deal with more complex issues."

Attended by 200 Senior Partners and Managing Partners, The Lawyer European Awards highlight the best work from leading law firms across Europe.

Alliance of the Year Award: British Legal Technology Awards

OCS and Taylor Wimpey won the 'Alliance of the Year' award at the British Legal Technology Awards for their collaboration in building the Taylor Wimpey Legal Hub. This follows the two teams' previous success at The Lawyer Awards earlier this year.

OCS collaborated with Taylor Wimpey to build the Legal Hub, which is a tailored panel management platform that provides greater visibility of total legal activity and spend across the business. The Legal Hub is now used by all ten panel firms and has transformed client service delivery across Taylor Wimpey's entire legal panel.

Alex Davy from the London-based OCS team said: "This is a fantastic result for the team! Taylor Wimpey requested a new digital platform to standardise and automate matter and invoice processes across their panel to give them greater visibility of total legal activity and spend, which we delivered a year ago.

"I'm really proud of the panel's collaborative approach and how we leveraged technology to support and enable greater efficiency of client processes and reporting, congratulations to all involved."

The Alliance of the Year Award recognises legal service providers and legal suppliers who have delivered excellence in collaboration between all parties. This category highlights sharing and complimenting best practice, looking outward and not inwards in terms of process, for the delivery of excellence in internal and external client services.

Osborne Clarke Solutions is the firm's international innovation team that empowers clients to digitally transform legal service delivery with value-driven solutions. The team engages with 60 percent of the firm's largest clients, including Taylor Wimpey, SuperDry, Cornerstone, L'Oreal and Kantar Group.
