The joint company has a wide reach with over 100 million gamers, marketing its games in over 40 countries, with a focus on Europe and North America. The new publisher has offices in Berlin, Hamburg, Münster, Seoul, Chicago, and San Francisco. ProSiebenSat.1 acquired Aeria Games Europe in February 2014, since when it has pushed ahead with a strong focus on the mobile side of the publisher’s business. The acquisition is still subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office.

An Osborne Clarke team led by Konstantin Ewald advised ProSiebenSat.1 on the transaction in relation to IT, IP as well as data protection law. The team included Tim Maiorino, Felix Hilgert, Adrian Schneider (all IT/IP/Games), Jens Schefzig (data protection) und Jan Hellenbrand (IP/trademarks). The firm is a market leader in the games sector. Most recently, it advised Turtle Entertainment on its sale to Modern Times Group MTG AB (publ.).
