Osborne Clarke in Amsterdam has advised FUGA and its shareholders on the sale of FUGA to Downtown Music.

The Amsterdam based music distribution and marketing services provider now forms part of the AVL Digital Group following acquisition by Downtown Music Holdings.

FUGA’s platform provides content management, workflow and distribution services, delivering to more than 260 digital service providers globally. Its client base of over 500 customers covers distributors, record labels, artist services companies and other rights holders. With the addition of FUGA, Downtown now manages more than 20 million copyrights worldwide with global operations in 19 cities across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, all supported by a growing team of 500 employees.

Jurisdictions involved were, amongst others, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy, USA and Asia.

The Osborne Clarke team was led by corporate partner Cristine Brinkman and included senior associate Geoffrey Beurskens and associate Guusje Cornelissen and was further supported by civil law notary Cars-Jan van Gool, candidate civil-law notary Arlette Vrolijk, tax partner Job van der Pol and senior associate Kevin van 't Klooster.
