Osborne Clarke is advising the auditing and consulting firm PwC Germany on the intended launch of CertifAI – along with DEKRA and the City of Hamburg.

The plan is to establish a company for the testing and certification of Artificial Intelligence (AI) products; the project is subject to clearance by the anti-trust authorities. The aim is to meet the increased security needs of manufacturers and users in the rapidly growing market for artificial intelligence. This is to be done by creating CertifAI, a company that shall support companies in complying with standards and regulatory requirements for AI-based products.

The focus of the venture shall be the offering of a solution and customer-oriented range of services that specialises in the individual testing of AI products and components. In addition, CertifAI shall ensure compliance with industry-specific norms and standards, such as in the automotive industry, to guarantee the safe and trustworthy use of applications with artificial intelligence.

The team advising PwC Germany, led by Robin Eyben, consists of Alexandra Nautsch and Dana Alpar (all Corporate / M&A).
