International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised LDC and the A-Gas senior management team on the sale of A-Gas to KKR. LDC is one of the UK’s leading mid-market private equity investors. The company originally invested in A-Gas, a market leader in the distribution and life-cycle management of specialty gases and chemicals, in 2011. 

The Osborne Clarke team who advised on the transaction was led by corporate Partner Alisdair Livingstone, assisted by Associate Director Chris Yeo, Senior Associate James Taylor and Associate Katharine Ramsay. Partner Tom Bussy supported on banking advice, Partner Marc Shrimpling assisted on regulatory matters and Partner Michael Bell and Senior Associate Tom Pygall provided tax support.

This deal is one of several transactions Osborne Clarke has advised on for LDC. In June 2016, Osborne Clarke acted on the LDC management buyout of heating systems specialist ADEY. Additionally the firm advised LDC on the sale of the Ministry of Cake to Mademoiselle Desserts in January 2017.

Osborne Clarke is one of the leading upper mid-market players in the UK, and increasingly Europe, with a strong pipeline of corporate business spanning from private equity to public companies. Nationally the firm achieved a top-ten ranking for UK mid-market M&A and a top-20 ranking for European mid-market M&A according to Thomson Reuter’s research.
