Full service throughout the entire acquisition process: Osborne Clarke has advised the Borealis Hotel Group on an extensive transaction. Not only did the legal practice – together with the Austrian CERHA HEMPEL Rechtsanwälte GmbH – manage the acquisition of Bierwirth & Kluth, which comprises a total of 12 hotel businesses with approx. 3,000 rooms in Germany and Austria, through which the Borealis Hotel Group intends to decisively strengthen its presence in the DACH region. The necessary financing by Three Hills Capital Partners and Atlantic Park Strategic Capital Fund, joint venture of the two investors General Atlantic and Iron Park Capital Partners, was also accompanied on the German side by Osborne Clarke.

Bart van de Kamp, CEO and founder of Borealis Hotel Group, said: “We’re excited to bring B&K into our group. Together we hope to work towards our vision of bringing our unique hospitality experiences to more customers across the continent, establishing Borealis as a leading hotel group. THCP have been instrumental in facilitating our growth through financing and operational expertise, and we look forward the additional support of our new partner, Atlantic Park.”

The Osborne Clarke team advising Borealis Hotel Group, led by Heiko Petzold (Real Estate and Financing) and Dr Philipp Reeb (Corporate / M&A), comprised Dr Mareike E. Klopp, Maria Bibik, Moritz Windheuser (all real estate law), Julian Baldus, Charlotte Mager (both corporate / M&A), Ghazale Mandegarian-Fricke, Jan Marco Aatz (both antitrust law) as well as Dr. Timo Karsten, Nils Wiehmann and Karin Sültrop (all labour law).
