We are lawyers by training, although many of our team members have additional tax or accountancy qualifications. But our primary role is wider: we are wealth managers. We advise our clients on how to structure their assets and minimize the effects of inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax. We give general independent advice on financial matters, particularly in relation to investments. We advise on the options available and the process and terms on which to place money with an investment adviser.
We also offer traditional private client services, such as the creation of wills, enduring powers of attorney and the preparation of advance directives relating to future medical treatment. Often, these are the initial stages in structuring our client's affairs efficiently but may lead to consequential tax planning.
We advise on trusts and trust management, handle the preparation and filing of individual and trustee tax returns, and offer a full tax compliance service. We also provide estate administration. This may also involve advising in relation to disputes.
Good estate and succession planning requires regular attention, and we ensure that any arrangements our clients make are kept under review, so that changes in both their own circumstances and in the law are taken into account.
