International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Finnish burger chain Friends & Brgrs on the opening of its first German store. The company’s sixth restaurant will open in the Europa Passage shopping mall in central Hamburg in September. The chain already operates restaurants in Finland and Denmark. The new restaurant in Hamburg is an important step in the company’s strategy of establishing itself in major European cities.

Friends & Brgrs was founded in 2014 by six friends, and is currently owned by approximately 560 shareholders. Friends & Brgrs defines itself as a fresh casual restaurant chain, which means that the restaurant only uses fresh ingredients, makes all the food from scratch in the restaurant and avoids additives always when possible. Friends & Brgrs currently operates five restaurants in Finland and Denmark.

The Osborne Clarke team that advised on the expansion was led by Katharina Feddersen (Real Estate law) and Dr Fabian L. Christoph (Corporate). The team also included Dr Moritz Naue (Real Estate law) und Alexandra Nautsch (Corporate).
